Tier 5 Visa Categories

There are mainly two types of visas under the Tier 5 category. One is for the youth mobility scheme and the others are for temporary workers under different sections.

Individuals holding ILR for a certain period, typically five years, may become eligible to apply for British citizenship, further solidifying their ties to the UK. Citizenship in Britain offers individuals access to unrestricted employment opportunities as well as full participation in its political and social life.

Tier 5 Visa Documents

The documents required for a Tier 5 application will again depend on the specific type of visa application that you will make but in general, these are the documents that you will need to submit under most categories of Tier 5 visa.

  • Applicant’s Passport and/or Valid travel identification
  • Passport-sized colour photograph
  • Applicant’s Previous passports (if held any)
  • Proof of maintenance requirements – Personal Bank Statements or Confirmation of maintenance and accommodation, if necessary, from your A-rated sponsor.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test results if your country is on the list where you have to take the test.

Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), Settler or permanent resident status provides individuals the privilege to live and work in the UK for an indefinite duration without restrictions on how or for how long.

Dependants under Tier 5 Categories

A dependant, usually your partner or your child aged under 18, can apply to join you in the UK as a dependant of Tier 5 visa holder. Your dependants will have to apply at the same time of your application and pay for the healthcare surcharge as part of their application.

You should also meet additional maintenance requirements for your dependants in addition to the £945 you must have to support yourself.

To be eligible for a Spouse Visa, the applicant must demonstrate a genuine and subsisting relationship with their UK partner. They must also meet financial requirements to ensure they can adequately support themselves without relying on public funds. Additionally, applicants need to provide evidence of suitable accommodation in the UK.
