Common Entrance Exam for Design, commonly known as CEED, is a national-level exam IIT Bombay conducts. The exam aims to test the aptitude of candidates for admission to postgraduate as well as PhD courses in design at renowned institutes like IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. A CEED score is also accepted for M. Des by other top institutes like the World University of Design, ISDI School of Design and Animation, Lovely Professional University (LPU) etc. The exam is conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and is held once a year. The CEED 2023 will take place on January 22, 2023, and the result will be declared on March 7th, 2023.

Tips On CEED Exam Preparation in 2023 In 2 Months:

2 months is nearly enough to prepare for the CEED 2023, and with the proper planning and dedication, an aspirant will be able to ace the exam. While hard work is necessary when preparing for any kind of exam, for CEED, an aspirant also needs to be talented and skillful. The tips for CEED 2023 preparation are mentioned below:

  • Know the CEED Syllabus for CEED 2023 preparation: 

 IIT Bombay, the conducting body of the exam, releases the syllabus for the CEED. The CEED exam has two parts. There are 6-sections in part A and 4-sections in part B of the exam, respectively. 

Part A Syllabus:

While preparing for Part A of CEED 2023, an aspirant must polish their general understanding of designs and work on their problem-solving ability. Part A aims to check a candidate’s overall knowledge of design and other necessary parameters surrounding design. The topics in Part A of the exam are mentioned below:

Since the time left for CEED exam preparation 2023 is only 2-months, an aspirant must devote one month to part A of the exam while simultaneously practicing their drawing skills and creativity. The last month must be dedicated solely to drawing, rendering and visualization skills. Rehearsing practical skills regularly can help with efficiency.

  • Understanding Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme:

Understanding the exam pattern and marking scheme is necessary for CEED exam preparation 2023. The pattern and marking scheme are different for both parts of the exam. Exam mode for Part A of the exam is online and is conducted in MCQ, MSQ and NAT format, where there are 23 MCQs, 10 MSQs and 8 NAT questions. There are a total of 41 questions, and the exam is 1-hour long. The total weightage of part A of the exam is 100 marks, where each MCQ holds 2-marks, while both NAT and MSQ carry 3-marks each. 

The Part B of the CEED exam is 2 hours long and is conducted in an offline mode. Part B is mainly descriptive and has a total of 5 questions, and each question carries 20 marks. The total weightage of Part B is 100 marks as well. 

  • Solving Mock Tests and CEED Question Papers:

For CEED 2023 preparation, solving CEED question papers from previous years as well as mock tests is one of the best ways one can prepare for CEED 2023 in 2 months. This practice can help a candidate to understand the format of questions in the exam. It can also help them prepare for important topics. By solving previous year’s question papers and mock tests, the candidates can formulate a strategy that can work best in their favor, keeping factors like time and revision in mind.
